A: Please take the following steps:
Check to be sure you've entered the correct password. Remember that the password field is case sensitive.

|
| |
Q: Why is the sound quality occasionally poor? |
| |
A: Sound quality depends on several factors. Some of the things you can do to improve the quality include:
- Check to make sure you have the latest version of the NGNTalk software. NGNTalk is constantly working to improve its products, and if you do not have the latest version of the software sound quality could be compromised. To get the latest update, go to the NGNTalk homepage and click on Current Software Download (see http://www.ngntalk.net/download.asp).
- If you are using a LAN Internet connection with a firewall, you will need to (or ask your Internet administrator to) reconfigure the system so it will allow voice transmission.
- If you are using a dial-up connection to the Internet:
- Check your phone line to be sure it is functioning properly.
- Make sure that the “Silence Detect” box has been checked in your dial-up configuration.
- If you are using a dial-up connection to the Internet but your computer does not support “Silence Detect,” you will need to upgrade your computer's modem. You can also go to the NGNTalk website and download the latest software (see: http://www.ngntalk.net/download.asp). The latest NGNTalk software for some of our products has “Silence Detect” already enabled. Be sure to download the software that corresponds to the equipment you are using.

|
| |
Q: I am receiving the error messages, “Cannot log on to the server for NGNTalk,” and “Check Server Address. Click the Edit button to edit.” What should I do? |
| |
A : Please do the following:
- Check to be sure you are connected to the Internet.
- Check to be sure that the server address entered into your NGNTalk software is correct.
- If you are using a LAN Internet connection and have a firewall enabled, make sure that the firewall supports NAT and Port Mapping.
|
| |
|
| |
Q: Even though I’ve doubled clicked on the NGNTalk icon I can’t see the Log in window. Why? |
| |
A: This could be the result of one of three things:
- Your computer is not operating properly. Try rebooting.
- Your firewall is blocking the connection. Please be sure that it supports NAT and Port Mapping.
- The Internet could be busy. Please wait a short time and try again.
|
| |
|
| |
Q: I am receiving the error message, “This user is in use.” What should I do? |
| |
A: This error message can be the result of one of two things:
- Your account is being used by someone else. Be sure not to share your account information with anyone else. If you suspect that an unauthorized person is using your account, contact NGNTalk Customer Service at 8296116 (North America) or 8296617 ( Asia ). To protect the security of your account, please do not check the “remember password” box when you are using a public computer.

| |
|
| |
Q: How do I accept incoming calls from a traditional or cell phone? |
| |
A: To accept an incoming call, simply press the “Accept” or “Answer” button on your phone.
Note : NGNTalk phones use an Internet network communication system and are not set up to accept calls directly from cell or traditional phones. Therefore, in order for someone who is using a cell or traditional phone to reach you, he/she will need to use NGNTalk's system of local access stations. By dialing one of these stations and following the voice prompts your callers can easily reach you.
To make use of this local access system, go to the “Local Access Dialing” link, accessible from any NGNTalk product page or at http://www.ngntalk.net/fqa_faq_1.asp. Select a local connection number and dial it. When you hear the voice prompt, enter the NGNTalk number you are trying to reach. This is a free service. |
| |
|
| |
Q: My USB phone operates very slowly, and my computer displays the message, “USB Controller bandwidth exceeded.” What does this mean? |
| |
A: Both symptoms indicate that your computer is having trouble allocating enough of its resources to running the NGNTalk software. This is often the case if you have several large programs open at once. Try closing all programs that you don’t absolutely need open and rebooting your computer. |
| |
|
| |
